Overview

The following items can be imported into Laos duty-free from non-bordering countries (from 16 years of age): 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 g of tobacco; 1 liter spirits; 2 liters of wine; 250ml Eau de Toilette and 50g Perfume. up to 500g of jewelry for personal use. More information is available from Countryaah.com.

Prohibited Exports

Buddha figures. The export of antiques is only possible with the permission of the Department of Heritage in Vientiane. Further information is available from the Laos Customs Office.

Punctuality is appreciated. A light suit, shirt and tie are worn for a business appointment. In addition to English, knowledge of French is very useful.
